PLATINA is a gallery, a platform and a laboratory for contemporary art jewellery. Founded and run by artist, gallerist and curator Sofia Björkman, Gallery PLATINA has earned a reputation for its avant-garde exhibitions that challenge conventional perceptions of jewellery. Since PLATINA’s inception in 1999, the gallery has been dedicated to showcasing innovative and cutting-edge jewelry that transcends traditional boundaries, transforming a large variety of materials into thought-provoking works of art.
The gallery’s mission is to provide a platform for artists who use jewellery as a medium for artistic expression, pushing the limits of craftsmanship and design. PLATINA regularly hosts artist talks, workshops, and events that encourage dialogue and collaboration within the art jewellery and craft field. These initiatives help to cultivate a deeper understanding and appreciation of contemporary jewelry as an art form.
