Braids, smooth stones, unruly ruffles, and sharp pine tree needles are common elements in the work of illustrator Annelie Carlström and jewellery artist Sanna Svedestedt Carboo. Our mutual fascination led to the collaborative project “Braid.Stone.Needle”. Sanna’s jewellery was reimagined by Annelie into an imaginary world, inspiring Sanna to create new pieces based on the characters in the illustrations.

Annelie Carlström graduated from Beckmans Collage of Design in Stockholm in 2007. Since then, she has worked as an illustrator and artist with a wide range of clients. Annelie works with a focused expression that is characterized by a strong sense of the craft and the material. With great sensitivity, she explores subjects that revolve around man and nature. Her visual world is dynamic and enigmatic retro modern. A serious tenderness characterizes her sensitively portrayed characters but also humorous playfulness in proportion and composition.
